Jewett Wins  E Nationals
Kevin Jewett sailed a consistent regatta with no race worse than 12th which became his throwout. With Jeff Campbell, boat owner of KG111, David Buckley and wife Carolina, Jewett is pictured above with Dad Woody. Vincent Porter had the best day with a 1-3, which was equally matched in points by Spring Lake's Jamie Kimball. The fleet began the day with a Z flag start. Brian Porter was victim to the 20% penalty. PRO Bruce Golison successfully completed two races to allow the fleet the requisite sixth race enabling a throwout. The second race finish recorded two protests which delayed awards. The wait could not diminish the joy from Jewett in his first E Nationals win.

Lotawana Fall C
September 27-29

The Lake Lotawana C-Fleet will hold their traditional Fall Regatta the weekend of September 27-28-29.  Registration and a tune up race are scheduled for Friday, along with the regular KC BBQ pot luck and party on the patio at the MoYC.  We will shoot for three races on Saturday and two on Sunday if conditions and time permit.  There will be a dinner at the MoYC on Saturday night and a brunch on Sunday after racing where trophies will be presented.

We generally have nice weather and winds this time of year at Lotawana, and boat traffic should be light post Labor Day.

We look forward to seeing you on the line the last weekend of September!

High School Sailing Begins
Lake Forest Wins First Weekend
Every weekend until November you will find our high school sailors on the road. It's Chicago, Milwaukee and the Twin Cities. This weekend the SE WI/Minnesota sailors traveled to Sheridan Shores for a qualifying 420 event for the Great Lakes Championships. The top six teams will proceed on to that event. The second qualifier for the Great Lakes will be in Michigan in two weeks.
Minnetonka sailors Jack Bitney and Isabella Loosbrock topped the Laser radial fleet. Oconomowoc's Parker Trepton and Hannah Girard won the 420 A division. Lake Forest's Will Curtiss topped the B division.
Results are posted on the MISSA website but you will need to have a Google Docs account and then be granted permission to view the results. New freshman names appear this week. It is exciting to see high school sailing grow so rapidly. Pewaukee serves as the training center for 45 (!!!) high school sailors this year.
Here are the top six qualifying names:
