 Adult/Youth All are Busy
It's a full month of sailing, sailing, sailing. With hopes of  not omitting anyone, here goes:

E's are facing their Nationals in beautiful Chautauqua. 49 teams are ready and you can still decide. This is the most picturesque site you will ever visit - decide today and go. The E Blue Chip is always a marvelous Pewaukee experience.

C's have a full schedule - look for all the local weekend events. The C Blue Chip celebrates its long. strong history at Pistakee. The event will move to Okauchee in 2013. the US Sailing Champion of Champions will be hosted by Pewaukee the end of September. The C scow is the boat of choice. Many of our fleet have offered our boats for the nation's best in class champions. It will be fun to watch.

MC's also NEVER end. They enjoy a plethora of choices throughout the Midwest. Pick a state and hook up the boat. Their Blue Chip is in Michigan.

I-20s host their Nationals in Indiana. Their fleet is growing on Fond du Lac, Ohio and Indiana. If you haven't met the great crowd from Wawasee, travel on down to Indiana. The local fleet is great fun.

Melges 17s have just completed two events in Michigan: the Western Michigans and their Nationals. It's an exciting boat with an opportunity for all of you. Jim Gluek will host any of you on Pewaukee for a private demonstration of the boat. If your local lake is considering a fleet or you want to join the circuit, contact Jim at Melges for a demo. The fleet has enjoyed wife-husband, two youth and parent-child combos. Take a ride!

X boats - Our youth move into other classes in the fall. But our X fleet is so strong. Oshkosh is out looking for boats as their fleet grows. Crews are lining up for the 2013 season. Our sailors are active all fall in . . .

420s - Whew, what a schedule. Our high schoolers can sail every weekend. The seasons runs September to November. Events are open, high-school based, local, national -- you can do it all.

Optis - look on the USODA website for events throughout the nation. It's time to begin planning your fall travel schedule. Wisconsin, Chicago and Minnesota sailors travel to New Orleans and Florida in November and December. Think about joining with the more experienced sailors for your first trip to a major event.

Lasers - Chicago and Milwaukee host Frostbiting series. Old or young, it's an easy boat to trailer to enjoy a day of sailing.

Opti, Laser, 420 - Travel to Holland, MI for the last JOs in the region.

Prepare for 2013

What is your club doing?

It's time to begin your next year's schedule or to look forward to fleet promotion locally. Who is doing what? Please share so other clubs can benefit from your expertise.

Beulah - X crews are set and now Beulah focuses on developing new skippers. The sailing school owns a good-quality boat which is loaned for a year to develop new talent.

C fleet - already boasting a 25 boat fleet, Beulah is planning to buy, YES BUY, perhaps 5 new boats to allow entry of 5 new youth sailors into the fleet. Beulah is exceptional at creating opportunities for our graduating X boaters. C is where to B  -- on Beulah. All it takes is some generous adult sailors to keep the fleet vital.

Mendota - hot off a great year of participation in the Optimist fleet and a stellar Inland Champs, the parents of young sailors are meeting to form a new organization within the current structure to ensure the continued growth of the club from its youth up. They are a wonderful example of an eager desire to re-build a youth program. Best of luck, Mendota.

Geneva - an exciting time for them as they look to build a new yacht club building. With the Buddy Melges name and, more importantly, with Buddy Melges himself on site daily to encourage sailors of all ages, the future of Geneva is always bright.
