E Blue Chip
Visit Pewaukee for all the action -Sept. 21-23, 2012

The E Blue Chip Regatta is our club's signature event and unique in several ways. It's the only annual regatta we host where competitors must qualify to receive a coveted invitation. The result is a 3 day race series of the highest level of E Scow competitors from around the country. The regatta has been sailed on Pewaukee for over 45 years by the absolute best E Scow sailors in the world.

The regatta includes a "Mystery Guest" which is a former Olympian, medal winner or world class skipper usually from a fleet outside of the E Scow. It's always fun to see how fast the guest picks up on the nuances of boat handling and characteristics of the scow. Yes, the guests do occasionally win the regatta. The Pewaukee Yacht Club proudly welcomes Peter Isler as the 2012 Mystery Guest. Internationally renowned sailor, motivational speaker, broadcaster and author, Peter has parlayed his love of sailing into a career Inextricable from the America's Cup since winning it as navigator aboard Dennis Conner's Stars & Stripes in 1987. Peter went on to sail in five Cup campaigns, winning it twice.

Pewaukee HS Event

scramble2012 September Scramble 2012

Twenty-two teams took to the waters of Pewaukee for the first annual September Scramble.  Satursday PRO Mark DeGuire and his top-notch team waited patiently for the wind to come in.  A Division was out on the water and ready to sail when the wind finally cooperated around noon.  When B Division hit the water the wind was lasting just long enough in one direction to get a race off.  Then the RC waited patiently for the next batch of wind and got off two more A rotations and one more B rotation before they called it a day.  Sunday morning brought more sunshine and more breeze.  The RC was able to finish 10 races in both divisions to complete the successful Scramble.  In the overall scores Oconomowoc Gold came out on top with Oconomowoc Purple in second, Loyola A third, White Bear fourth and Arrowhead fifth.  A Division was won by Oconomowoc Gold, followed by White Bear and Arrowhead.  While B Division was won by Oconomowoc Gold, followed by Loyola A and Oconomowoc Purple.

College sailing
Let us know of your college sailors. Your yacht club members want to know and communication within clubs often gets more complicated in the Fall and Winter months. The two Swanson twins are sailing in their freshman years. Michael is at Tulane and Alex at Brown. Don't forget Erin Monahan from Nagawicka at UW. Watch the weekend results as the season continues. www.collegesailing.org
