All SHIMMER = GOLD!!! Russ Lucas, Harry Melges III and Federico Michetti take Winter Event #1
All racing was on Sunday in Miami
PRO Bruce Golison (E National's PRO) faced challenging conditions with no wind for two days but the fleet looked relaxed in preparation for a four-race one-day event. While New Jersey ILYA member Russ Lucas took home the prize, Annie Haeger above makes Melges 20 sailing look most glamorous. Sorry, Russ, we know you are the champ but no greater photo than this one  from the event.
A beautiful sight as Shimmer leads downwind. Below, Shimmer rounds the last race as a winner to take the event win. This event is the first of a WARM winter circuit with sailors from Canada and the colder Midwest enjoying Florida's great weather.
Malcolm Lamphere Takes Bronze in HS Nationals
Newport Hosts HS and Prepares for College Nationals
Collegebound Malcolm Lamphere ends his singlehanded college sailing with a third at Nationals. He finished behind the two California sailors. His second day was outstanding but was not enough to catch the beach boys. Lamphere moved up to the full rig this year.
In the radial class, Pewaukee's Augie Dale finished 10th.
The 18 full rig and 18 radial sailors preceded the 36 collegians where the men will compete in full rigs and the women in radials.
