    College Sailors Attend Singlehanded Nationals
    Newport Hosts College Nationals
Two ILYA sailors traveled to Newport to face the nation's best in Lasers on the college scene. Above, Matt Ripkey (Lake Geneva) sailing for Wisconsin and, below, Ryan Grosch (Nagawicka) sailing for Minnesota enjoyed the elite status of attending Singlehanded College Nationals. Ripkey finished 15th and Grosch 17th at the event. No ILYA women qualified for the event.
              MC's in Eustis, Florida
      from Facebook
One last look at the final results for this weekend's SER regatta. What a great weekend for sailing! Watch out for those newcomers to Lake Eustis (John Porter, Chris Andert, Mike Considine...), as they were fast. Very fast! Anyone thinking of coming down for Train Wreck should definitely clear their schedules for February 1-2, 2014, as the racing promises to be tight and exciting!
Nominate your favorite. Keep the ILYA Name in the Forefront
      It's up to you!
Each year US Sailing presents up to five awards to recognize outstanding individuals, classes, clubs and fleets in one-design sailing. The awards -- Service, Leadership, Club, Regatta, and Creativity -- highlight role models of creative leadership in one-design sailing.

Did your club run an outstanding regatta this year? Is there an exceptional person at your club who was responsible for making your fleet grow? Anyone can nominate a club, fleet, regatta or one-design spark plug for a US Sailing One-Design Award. US SAILING wants to hear about it - one superbly written nomination per nominee is all that is needed.

SERVICE To recognize distinguished service and leadership in the promotion of one-design sailing and class organization. Make a nomination
In recognition of individual initiative, enthusiasm, organizing ability and leadership in creating the outstanding fleet building program. Make a nomination
CLUB To recognize administrative excellence, fleet growth, creative programming, regatta support, member contribution -- at regional, national and international levels -- of the one-design yacht club of the year. Make a nomination
To recognize excellence in development, promotion, and management by organizers and sponsors of the year's outstanding multi-class or single class, international, continental, national or regional regatta. Make a nomination

    Christmas Giving

       Time to Consider Our Sport

Most of us look forward to the holidays and GIVE is a part of our display of gratitude for all we enjoy. As you consider your end of year giving, plan to say thanks to this sport for all your experiences, friends, competitive and not-so-competitive accomplishments. This sport has given us all so much.

    National E Scow Sailing Association

Thanks to the National E Scow for the $1000 donation to the new Buddy Melges Sailing Center. The Center will honor our legend, Buddy, but will house our memorabilia and history.

    ILYA Bilge Pullers

The ILYA Hall of Fame (founded and sustained by the ILYA Bilge Pullers) will find a permanent home with the building of the new Buddy Melges Sailing Center. The Bilge Pullers in their generous nature will lead the charge to create a technologically inviting review of our prominent leaders of Inland sailing.
    ILYA Foundation
Our youth sailors are training hard for national and international events which will lead to Rio in '16. The ILYA Foundation provides a depository for funds with a small service charge to cover the added cost of an audit triggered by our good fortune of exceeding state regulations for revenue by a charitable organization. Our sailors receive prompt payment for expenses incurred - thanks to the dedication of Executive Secretary Jim Smith and the Foundation Committee. Our young sailors carry our name and reputation throughout the nation. ---- In addition, you can donate to the general Foundation fund which grants monetary support based on application for specific events.
    ILYA Promotion Fund
All our classes work to promote, grow and encourage youth entry into our successful scow classes. Our youth attend regattas with fees eliminated or greatly reduced (based on collaboration with the national class) thanks to your generous support to the Promotion Fund. Your money AND IDEAS for promotion are always welcome.
