A Nationals on Minnetonka - Two races today
Watch for news on the Melges website and FB

The photos remain spectacular. Melvin is on top but newcomer RJ Porter is giving the M- 21 a run for its money. Go to the ILYA-Inland Lake Yachting Association Facebook page for great photos of a photo finish. Those G-Force I-12 sailors are mighty young. And that exemplifies a lot of what is now Lake Geneva. Youth on every boat, every class. It's an exciting time for them as the youngsters finish sailing school weekdays and adult racing commences with phone calls, "Mom, Mr. X needs a crew. He will take care of my dinner later. May I please stay and race?" The future of the club is in good hands with the wise skippers including youth on nearly every boat.

Watch results throughout the day. First race start 10:00 for the final two races.
Laser North Americans -- MALCOLM LAMPHERE IS CHAMPION!!!
Luke Ramsey (Anne Haeger fiance) Takes Radial Title

Malcolm Lamphere - North American Champions

Malcolm won the event by an impressive 10 points. The 52-boat fleet was filled with big names. With the following results
5.0 6.0 4.0 4.0 1.0 5.0   10.0   4.0 2.0 6.0
he displayed a consistency that was unmatched. On a side note, Canadian two-time Olympian, Luke Ramsey (with and American connection) topped the Laser Radial fleet. Ramsey topped a 53-boat fleet.

This is the second Lake Geneva sailor to take the title. Susie Pegel , in younger years, also won the championship title.

Big Wind for three races; two scheduled for Sun

Where there's a will, there's a way. Chris Tornehl, brother of Tobin of Pewaukee lives near Eau Claire on a beautiful lake with very little sailing. So he started a yacht club and has begun traveling to regattas to re-discover his skills as a teen. He sat in first at lunch today. Sailing with his son, hope looks bright for a new sailing club, Lake Wissota.

Mike Gehl had a rough start but finished 1-2 on the day.

Ethan Heinze, who has to be a junior, although listed as Open sits in third overall.

At the end of day, Jim and Debbie Gluek sit atop the leaderboard.

And just to see how the day looked, it was tight mark roundings. PRO Mark Prange looks to complete two more races in cold, windy weather beginning at 9:30 AM.
