74 Days and Counting!!!! $75,000 to raise!!!
That's what it will take to meet expenses between now and Annie Haeger/Briana Provancha's first start at the Olympics. The ILYA is up to the challenge to assist with that endeavor. A huge fundraiser at New York Yacht Club netted the whole team $250,000 but that's for 20+ athletes. It's a mountain of money today to compete. Annie at the LBYC Opening Party said, "I am so excited. I ordered my sails for the Olympics today. I am no longer  470 - 1712 but now I am USA! But it was the largest check I have ever written - $27,000."

Join us on Saturday night at LBYC from 6-9:00 for a reception to celebrate her Rolex Yachtswoman of the Year award. Wish Annie good luck but consider a donation to assist in her quest. Look for the Red, White and Blue tables with merchandise. We are also pre-selling dinner seats and tables for a fundraising event sure to make you proud of our ILYA Olympic sailor -- our own special WELCOME BACK dinner on October 1st at LBYC. So bring your checkbook or credit card, consider a seat, a table with your friends, merchandise or special surprises. Can't attend? Make your contribution at the ILYA website or send a check to

College Nationals - Yale Takes Team Race Title
Malcolm Lamphere now has two national titles under his belt this collegiate year. He was singlehanded national champ in the Fall and now has completed another national championship in the second of three national championships determined in San Diego. Also competing in the Team Race Nationals portion of the Championships were Tim Siemers (Eckerd - Wayzata), Augie Dale (Old Dominion - Pewaukee) and Leslie Poole (Wisco - Delavan).

Co-ed Nationals follow directly on the heels of Team Racing. The schools are currently in the semifinals portion which lasts two days. Check scores now since Augie Dale is winning B's in his semifinal division.  Watch for other sailors in these two disciplines. Watch here for scores and click A and B Division tabs to see names of participating sailors. Noticeable in the semifinals (schools often change skippers in the finals providing a rest for the Team Racing sailors) are Andre Deriaz (UWM - Browns Lake), Parker Trepton (UWM - LaBelle), Susie Voltz (UWM - White Bear), Zac Aasen (UWM - LaBelle), Hannah Noll (UWM-Minnetonka), John Rolander (Tufts - Geneva), Kate Klement (Wisco - Beulah), Connor Corgard (Roger Williams - MInnetonka), Eddie Cox (Hobart and William Smith- White Bear). Semis conclude today and finals begin with the top nine teams from each semifinal.
