it was all Nicholas and Madeline Clemece today with a 1-1
He obviosuly sits in first but the next three, second through fourth, are tied. Alex Jerred from LaBelle, Michael Lee (Geneva) and George Kutschenreuter (Beulah) are all tied with 12 points. Charlie Morris (Geneva in 5th), Michael Barth (Beulah in 6th). Stephen Johnson (LaBelle 7th), Allison Gutenkunst (Pewaukee 8th), Patrick Egan (Cedar 9th) and Jordan Kaerek (Pewaukee 10th).
The sixty-three boats sailed two races in light to medium wind that built throughout the afternoon. The morning was devoted to volleyball as PRO Chip Mann waited for the wind to fill in. Bob Biwer spent the morning outside the harbor monitoring conditions for the two fleets.

Claire Feichtmeier of Pewaukee reminds us all that sailors here will recall the fun of attending the first X Champs hosted by this gracious lake.
Mark Wrasse
Senior Race Committee member Mark Wrasse shoots the gun which returns to the water. For many lakes, airhorns have replaced shotguns as the signal sound. The senior fleet had race one abandoned after the first windward leg due to a 90 degree wind shift which the committee could not respond too quickly enough to maintain a fair race. The difficult call by Chip Mann demonstrates the tenuous conditions always for race committee but the constant vilgilance throughout the race. Windward and leeward mark boats, Russ Ackley and Marks Tesar and Prange were most busy on Day One.

Pro Tom Hodgson got three races off for the Junior Fleet. Three separate winners impressed the crowd. E89 John Schmidt took the first race and two Geneva boats nabbed races two and three. Matt Ripkey and Joe and Griffin Rolander received the guns.
Many, many of our junior fleeters had fantastic races. The trick in this fleet is consistency. The results are posted here. Strong performance by Alex Dreissen of next year's host Gull Lake places him in second. Northern sailors continue with Addy Ferguson (Minnetonka) and Eddy Cox (White Bear) in 3rd and 4th. Pewaukee's PJ, Feichtmeier sits 5th; Charlie Burton (Minnetonka) in 6th, Cedar's Kathryn Rusher in 7th, Okauchee's Jeff Sazama in 8th, Beulah's Cullen Barr in 9th and Okauchee's John Schmidt in 10th.
