If you are 35 and older - Bring your family and stay at the Abbey or any nearby hotel. You sailors can travel down early to the club and allow your family to leisurely enjoy the morning and arrive later by Uber to join you. It helps on the car parking or shuttling for your convenience.
If you are 34 and under - Lake Geneva is happy to announce a "drunk bus" service during the regatta days. Use UBER or bring along a pregnant woman as your Designated Driver. (Now if you are offended by this, it is not my personal philosophy to encourage drinking. How many of you have ever seen the editor with a drink? - But it was just too tempting not to print since my daughter who is expecting in December commented on how all her friends are the right age to have DD's around.) Please no critical emails. I have reprimanded my five children enough regarding drinking - I get it. I could not resist.)
Mooring available at Geneva
There are some of you who prefer to be in the water rather than daily launching. There are a few spots available in two areas near the club - South Shore and near Brookwood. Please contact Kristin Gannon
, the logistics chair (and that is not an easy job) to register you desire to moor.
We need over 450 volunteers with 3 hour shifts to execute the ILYA Championship properly. Last year, all slots were filled and folks just plain enjoyed it. This is open to everyone. Please, please, consider volunteering once during the event. Pick a time when you are not sailing and help the ILYA and Lake Geneva make this run as smoothly as great volunteering allows.
