Geneva Lake Sailing School arrived in green. It was a great sight and bodes well for the health of their club. And to prove numbers speak of success, the Championship fleet is being led by Geneva's Griffin Rolander. Beulah provided fickle winds all day: a morning of hope and then evaporation of wind followed by a shiftiness only the best sailors survived. One hundred and four sailors tackled the wind and on-land fun.
The top ten in the championship:
1 Griffin Rolander 10
2 Johnny Ferguson 12
3 Joey Feichtmeier 19
4 Trevor Trepton 21
5 Parker Trepton 25
6 Charlie Kutschenreuter 27
7 RJ Porter 38
8 John Hatfield 40
9 Jack Carney 41
10 Alec Bischoff 46
74 total sailors Full results here.
In the Green Fleet:
1 JP Friend 5
2 Stuart Henry 10
3 John Berg 13
4 Christian Spencer 26
5 Amelia Rolander 33
6 Ali Freytag 36
7 Bo Freytag 37
8 Parker Michel 39
9 Taitan Workman 41
10 Zac McClenathan 41

With a week out before the ILYA Championships the Green Lake YC has been busy tying up loose ends so that we can provide you with an awesome regatta experience. Last night I had the opportunity to test out the sweet corn which we will be getting for the steak and corn dinner. The corn was great and it is only going to get better after a couple days of rain and heat over the weekend. By the way we have put in a request for weather, no rain and no heat, extra wind and high 70's maybe low 80's.

The local establishments have loaded up on beverages and food and are awaiting a busy two week run as the county fair starts tomorrow and the town stays busy with the regatta and the art fair going full blast next week. It will be a busy week for many of us.

For those people that are bringing up spectator boats the C's and the E fleet could sure use the support of having a few boats on station. If you are willing to watch races and maybe if needed offer some help to your fellow sailors we would really appreciate the extra help. Please contact Jim Smith if you are interested in assisting.

We know there are a bunch of people still on the fence, so why pass up the opportunity to get in on one last regatta for the season which is an easy commute for many.

If you haven't registered yet and are planning on coming please let us know. See you in a week!
