2017 ILYA Champs Social Recap
Friday and Saturday Night Parties capped off a spectacular Championship Week

Dave Berg here, pinch-hitting for Candace Porter for this volume of Scowlines.  Hard to believe it has been a week since the 2017 ILYA Championship Regatta has come to a close. What a spectacular 3 years at LGYC! Bravo!!!

Let's take a quick look back at Friday and Saturday evening.  Friday night featured Sail it On!  A celebration of the families who have 3, 4, 5 and even 6 generations of sailors who have formed the basis for the history, competition, sportsmanship, friendship, family and fun that are the hallmarks of the ILYA since its inception in 1897 at White Bear Lake.

The evening was co-sponsored by David Perrigo/UBS & the Bilge Pullers and they deserve a huge thank you! Kudos to the families who participated! Amassing the photos, sitting for the interviews, filming, uploading and submitting was no small task and the result demonstrates how special the families of our organization really are! Thank you for your generations of participation and your willingness to share!  Click below to view the Sail it On! highlight reel shown on Friday night at the presentation.

Saturday evening was brought to you by US Sailing, the organization which provides the backbone and framework that enables us to compete and enjoy the sport which we all love.
To lead the evening off, Robin Dale, Membership Marketing Manager of US Sailing recognized our own Candace Porter with the C.R.E.W. award.  View her acceptance of the award and her recognition of how important US Sailing has been to the ILYA below:

Finally, Saturday night was...party time.  The Al Wetzel Band brought it big time and all of our sailors and their families, both young and old danced the night away.  Take a brief glimpse into the celebration right here:

Next year we travel to Minnetonka who is eager to show us another spectacular example of Inland hospitality, competition and fun for all of our sailors.  We look forward to seeing you there.
