I-20s Looks like homelake sailor John Hayashi has done a great job recruiting. Look for 17 boats on the starting line. There are more Indiana Bolles here than you can shake a stick at. Can you tell the editor is from nearby Ohio? The two Bolles boats brought along another boat so it makes three for Wawasee. Fond du Lac is strongly represented with four boats; three from Mendota - looks to be a great competitive field. With beautiful spinnakers, it will be a feast for the eyes on this grand lake.Geneva's Devin Farley serves as PRO.
E's Thirty-nine are here and the field will be tough. Minnetonka is well represented with nine boats and talent galore. Pewaukee shows its strength with eight; Oshkosh and Mendota have five. With names like Porter, Gluek, Barkow, Evans, Burton, Jewett and Bowers - the oldsters have returned. And from far away Torch Lake, Art Brereton makes an appearance with a tough crew of Melges and Ward. PRO Terry Bischoff gets them going at 11:00.
C's Forty-five will respond to the fun, oops, gun. The GooseBlind action has already begun. Twelve - yes, twelve Beulah boats will party hearty - oh, sail well, here on Green Lake. Cedar not to be outdone brought nine. Okauchee has seven - have to count Steve "Hot off the WYA" Schmidt sailing a borrowed boat from North Lake. Son Tim will sail the E-89. PRO Chip Mann will host the strongest field imaginable in this fleet. For those of you in attendance here, please look up to the top of the sails to see the gold C insignias designating past C National champs. It is anyone's regatta.
