US Sailing Judges Course Enjoyed by Many

by Todd Haines

US Sailing Club Judge Seminar was very well attended on Saturday the 12th of April w/ 16 students from S.E. Wisconsin Yacht Clubs.  The class was instructed by Bruce Martinson, the Area K US Sailing Judge Jury representative and International Judge.  He was assisted by Kevin Kenny of Wayzata Y.C. and US Sailing Judge Jury Instructor.  Many of the students commented on what an interesting and thought provoking day it was and at times quite fun.  There was quite a bit of rules review as well as role playing as the students learned how to properly administer Protests and organize a committee.  There is discussion of holding a similar event next spring focusing on Rules and then the following year rotating back to Judge Jury.  A big thanks to Harken for allowing the use of their beautiful conference center, to Bruce Martinson for his top notch instruction, and to Mark and Mary Carol DeGuire for putting on the breakfast and lunch. The project was put forth by the ILYA Fleet Council who will be bringing forth more training and learning opportunities down the road-stay tuned!

ILYA Regatta Registration Open
New format
There is a new look to the ILYA registration process this season. The organization has transitioned to regatta management software to expedite the process, provide improved visibility for our sponsors and to give each event its own identity. Sign up now for any ILYA event. The No Tears and 420 Championships are locally controlled so will not appear in the new format.
