Schedule, Results and More
MC's    8:45 Warning     Goal is three races this morning

A's       9:30 Warning

Sail it On Program ---- 6:30 SHARP!!  Come see the families of the Inland

C's get in two; E's sail one; A's and MC's NO RACING DUE TO HIGH WINDS
Weather wins the Day ---- but Kent Haeger wins the water --- takes two bullets

This was the midmorning view which did not hamper PRO Larry Krause and the C fleet. Just as Race Two was finishing, the clouds opened and the middle to back of the fleet was treated to a 10-minute downpour. Mike and Stephanie Woldum, on the right, smiled through it. For Martin Barr, it was a second dousing as he spent the first race tipped over. All in all, a wet set of AM races.
The E's got one off (the fleets have staggered start times), spent a short hiatus between races in the rain and attempted Race Two. Big winds came in to cause abandonment.
E fleet
Brian Porter in I-49 showed why he is the Melges 24 World Champion and a Rolex Yachtsman of the Year. He took the win for the sole E race of the day. Hannah Noll of Melges amazingly displays the beauty of the E's in the morning sun.

So far Dad wins! Three Haegers in the top ten. Quite an accomplishment!

Kent Haeger took two bullets today; the first in a photo finish, the second with a greater lead.
Returning to scow action (below) is Annie Haeger with fellow Olympian Luke Ramsey. Neal Klement is third. Don't the smiles just say it all! Dad is in front of her but can he stay there? Kent has won every major championship but the Inland. It's soon to be determined.

So very, very few are left. A scows will be sailing on Saturday now we could not get a second race completed. That means trophies on Saturday night -- YOU WANT TO BE THERE! Check in with Dave Berg later in the day to charge tickets. $55 for dinner but this includes the band whom you all love. Dance the night away under the tent.
Friday night is the opportunity to enjoy the celebration of families of the ILYA. It will be quite an extravaganza as small snippets of video play from the families as we begin SHARPLY at 6:30.
The Gill line is particularly sharplooking this year. Event tees, spray tops, heavier jackets, vests, fleece, sailing gear - Gill - it's the favorite brand of many. This is open to all. If you are taking a walk around Geneva or live nearby, stop in to shop.
Check volunteer slots on upper left of this edition - still openings for today, Sat and Sunday. Parking lot help gets the boats in faster which is needed.
We need shuttle bus drivers. Just pretend you are an Uber driver, meet the sailors. Or if you are not sailing one portion, just check in with Nancy Blanchard in the Volunteer Room. She is diligently working all day to keep us all "held together". She will gladly find you a spot to work.
Lake Geneva Yacht Club
Can you imagine 5-700 of us on your property? Lake Geneva and its crew handled it with grace. The smiles on the faces of Terry Blanchard, Kristin Gannon (co-chairs), Commodore Rod Rieger, Club Manager Michael Moore said it all.
It was a day for re-kindling friendships. The entire Quiram - Tesar - Oltrogge family was together. Eckerts-Schmidts-Rushers encompass 15-20. Just for a little extra fun, Canadian Olympian brought out his WASZP to loads of spectators.
The MC Fleet held its annual fleet meeting under the direction of Mark Tesar.
Lunch anyone?
Here are the photos from today-- Kmiecik and Porter/Roble
