OLYMPIC SAILING - 3rd and 4th for Barkow/Roble
Our two teams ended up sailing each other for third and fourth. Barkow took the set 2-0 but how proud we can be. Both teams will be traveling to Weymouth, England for a rematch of the final four standing from this event. Winner Anna Tunnicliffe will get to choose her first opponent. There's a lot of practice in the next six months for the two teams. Please consider a donation to our Olympic hopefuls. See the left hand bottom box - Paypal and credit card accepted or mail in your donation to the ILYA.
HS and then College Singlehanded Nationals
Illini Mitchell Kiss won the Laser Radial section of the high school championships. Malcolm Lamphere was 6th in the heavy air event. Minnesotans Connor Corgard and Wheeler Morris were 14th and 16th respectively in the full rig portion. Full results. Travel to Chicago this weekend to see Annie Kate Haeger, Colin Smith, Joe Kutschenreuter and Andrew Fox. Belmont, here we come!
Spooktacular Regatta - Scary time at Geneva
Henry Chapman won the Optis, Matt Ripkey won the Lasers and the Minnetonka HS team of Ben Garber/Madde Loosbrock and Isabelle Loosbrock and Nick Price took the 420 title. Full results

Please plan to attend
If you are a fleet rep, a yacht club spark plug, race committee member, builder/sailmaker - you NEED to attend the US Sailing One Design Symposium. New Jersey is the site of the event where there is a hotbed of E scows and M-16s. Check out the agenda - it is exciting, stimulating and will help energize your club or fleet. Check here for the events. The ILYA will have a presence but you are needed to represent us or to learn from others. It's a NOT-TO-BE-MISSED event. Contact Jim Smith to let him know you are going. There seem to be five concurrent sessions at time. There are two of us going thus far.
