| Keck Holds Slim Lead over Krech |

 In a tough day of racing, Peter Keck with brother Dan leads the fleet with a 2 point advantage. The fleet hit the water for the proposed 10:00 warning and completed nearly an entire race. With the time limit expiring, Ed Eckert was 2/3 of the way to the finish on the final leg. A heartbreaking experience. With a several hour delay, the late afternoon breeze returned for two hard, light air races. Minnetonka's Tim Krech/Anne Scherermann squeaked by Beulah's George and Jim Kutschenreuter for race one and Cedar's Paul Reilly/Aaron Mann walked away with race 2.  Race one winner Krech gets the gun.

| Mea Culpa says the editor |

After being led astray on the Lynch story by a wayward sailor (know any of these?), the editor now presents the truth. The corrected version gives Patrick Lynch some better luck whicn transpired into a great day yesterday resulting in an overall third place finish. It is not clear if the results would be the same if the accident had occurred on water given obstructions and inside rights rules, but Lynch appeared to be in the "no go" zone on land and another vehicle struck his car resulting in the damage seen in yesterday's edition of Scowlines. The generous Lynch car dealer has offered $100 donation to the ILYA for anyone purchasing a new car. So give your wife back home a little something from Geneva. |
| Malcolm Lamphere Wins CORK |
|
Geneva's Malcolm Lamphere has just completed a spectacular summer in the 420 class in his first year on the circuit. He returns today from the Canadian Olympic Regatta at Kingston where he competed in the Junior portion. Malcolm sails with a transplanted sailor, Riley Legault, who was his crew at the X Inland in Pewaukee where he was top of the leaderboard in the Junior division. Minnetonka's Ben Garber was 5th. Lamphere and Garber have been traveling this summer on the 420 circuit with great success for both sailors. A final roundup article of 420 sailing will be published in a later edition with boat sailors winning events.
