The E's took to the water first in what looked like a great day only to be disrupted twice by impending storms. Lulls with near shutdown of the breeze resulted in a wide spread of boats but Sam Rogers was unstoppable today in any breeze with a 2-1. Young Derek Packard showed consistency to make it a 1-2 punch for Minnetonka. Only Augie Barkow sneaking in at third breaks up a Mnnetonka sweep of first through sixth. Quite an impressive fleet.

The evening awards gave Kaenon sunglasses, Melges hats, Harken gear and a bottle of Champagne. Pictured with the Race One Winner Evans team of John Porter, Rob Evans and Geoff Evans is one of the volunteers everywhere at this well-run event.
On the MC side, two races were also completed and at day's end Craig Thompson, shown below, leads the large fleet.
And if there is no surprise, here is Andy Burdick, winner of Race 2 but in this first race photo, daughter Mya accompanies her most accomplished father. Ever heard of the daughter having the father wrapped. . . . . ? Burdick reports his daughter's request to go head to win to go swimming during the race was not heeded. This is a change from the most competitive Burdick. Don't look for this level of laxity during the A fleet champs.
