Inland Lake Yachting Association (ILYA)Privacy PolicyThe privacy of our members is important to ILYA. What Information is Collected How We Might Use the Information We occasionally sell, distribute, trade or otherwise transfer personally identifiable information obtained from a member to third parties that in our opinion will make responsible use of it. Third parties such as sailmakers and boat builders who supply products to our membership are usually considered responsible third parties. Third parties desiring to sell services or products unrelated to our association purposes are encouraged, instead, to use paid advertising via our news magazine, Scow Slants, or one of our electronic publications such as our web site or ScowLines email communication system. We may, from time to time, contact members on behalf of third parties about a particular offering that may be of interest to you. In those cases, your personally identifiable information (e-mail, name, address, telephone number) is not transferred to the third party. ILYA may share member data with responsible third parties to arrange for deliveries of products ordered via the ILYA. Members’ email address information is automatically entered into our ScowLines communication system. Email addresses of members and other subscribers on our ScowLines email communication system are never disclosed to any third parties. ScowLines also provides a safe and secure means for members and other subscribers to opt out of the system. ILYA will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on ILYA; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of ILYA; and, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of members of ILYA, or the public. Posting of information concerning members on the web site Security of your Credit Card Information Printed credit card information received by other means (such as over the phone, by mail, by facsimile, or by email) is not kept on file, but is destroyed within a reasonable time after its intended use is completed.
