White Bear Sailing School invites all Optimist sailors and families to the TCYS Optimist Championship and ILYA West No Guns, No Tears, No Protests Regatta on Friday, June 25, 2010.

Directions to White Bear Lake Ramsey Beach: From 694: Take I-35E north to exit #117/MN-96 East. Turn left on MN-96(US-61N) go 1.1 mi. Turn right on MN-96 follow to Ramsey County Beach sign on your right.

Registration: Registration may be done on the day of the regatta, or by mailing application to the White Bear Sailing School, PO Box 10865, White Bear Lake, MN 55110. Please make checks payable to: White Bear Sailing School (WBSS)
Schedule:
8:00 a.m. - Check-in and Registration at Ramsey County Beach
8:45 a.m. - Check-in and Registration closes
9:00 a.m. – Skippers Meeting (yachts should be ready to race before meeting)
10:00 a.m. – Racing Starts
12:00 p.m. – Lunch
1:00 p.m. – Racing resumes. We will attempt to complete 5 races for the day
No race shall start after 3:00 p.m., awards to follow last race
Eligibility
An adult supervisor, parent, or coach must accompany every skipper.
Skippers need not be members of TCYS or ILYA in order to participate.
Fleets are divided by age as of 06/12/10 as follows:
• Green Fleet (ILYA No Tears): Must be a novice sailor age 15 or under.
• White Fleet: Age 10 or under
• Blue Fleet: Age 11-12
• Red Fleet: Age 13-15
Social
All skippers and coaches will receive lunch at no cost. Extra lunches will be available at $5.00 each.
T-Shirts will be available at $10 each.
Fees
Entry fee is $25 for skippers who are members of TCYS or ILYA, $30 for those who are not.
Trophies
Participation Ribbons will be presented to all Optimist Green Fleet sailors. Awards will be presented to the top 3 finishers in the Optimist White, Blue and Red Fleets.
Risks
Sailing is an activity that has an inherent risk of damage and injury. Competitors in this event are participating entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4, Decision to Race. The race organizers (organizing authority, race committee, protest committee, host club, sponsors, or any other organization or official) will not be responsible for damage to any boat or other property or the injury to any competitor, including death, sustained as a result of participation in this event. By participating in this event, each competitor, or in the case of minors, each competitor’s parent or guardian agrees to release the race organizers from any and all liability associated with such competitor’s participation in this event to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Rules
The regatta will be governed by the 2009-2012 ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the prescriptions of the United States Sailing Association, the Optimist Class Rules, ILYA Rules, this Notice of Race, and the Sailing Instructions. Protests will be heard in all fleets, except the Optimist Green, with the PRO, or their designated representative hearing all protests.
Courses
Optimist White, Blue and Red Fleets will be sailed on the same course and start together, but scored separately. The Optimist Green Fleet will be sailed on a separate course.

The low point scoring system will be used, with one throw out awarded if five races are sailed.
