Schedule of Remaining Races:
Six races are scheduled in each fleet. Except when races are sailed back-to-back, the time of the warning signal for subsequent races will be posted. If one race is completed, no warning signal shall be made after 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 3. In any case, no warning signal shall be made after 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 3.
Eligibility
White Fleet (8-10 years) Blue Fleet (11-12 years) Red Fleet (13-15 years) Green Fleet (5-15 years) The Green fleet is for beginner sailors. No one who has participated in an ILYA Championship Optimist Regatta may compete on the Green course. Age will be determined as of January 1, 2010.
All skippers must be members of the ILYA. Minimum level of ILYA membership is the Dinghy Membership, which can be paid directly to ILYA via the web site at www.ilya.org or via the application form.
Social
Information on social functions will be available prior to the race on the OLYC web site www.olyc.org and at registration.
Fees
$70.00 for Red, White or Blue fleets sailors with advance registration postmarked or otherwise received on or before July 15. After July 15 the following penalties apply: $84.00 postmarked or otherwise received between July 16 and August 2. On site registration, if space permits, is $91. For Green fleet sailors, the fees are $60.00, $72.00 and $78.00. Entries should be submitted via the ILYA web site www.ilya.org or via the official ILYA Regatta Entry form.
The registration includes a regatta shirt and lunches for each day for each skipper. Additional spectator lunches will be available for purchase at the regatta headquarters. Additional regatta T-shirts will be available on a limited basis at the regatta headquarters.
Trophies
Race trophies and 1-5 place trophies for RWB fleets will be awarded. Overall trophies for 1-15 will be awarded for RWB. Trophies for the top three female skippers overall will be awarded. All Green fleet participants will receive participation awards.
Risks
Sailing is an activity that has an inherent risk of damage and injury. Competitors in this event are participating entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4, Decision to Race. The race organizers (organizing authority, race committee, protest committee, host club, sponsors, or any other organization or official) will not be responsible for damage to any boat or other property or the injury to any competitor, including death, sustained as a result of participation in this event. By participating in this event, each competitor, or in the case of minors, each competitor’s parent or guardian, agrees to release the race organizers from any and all liability associated with such competitor’s participation in this event to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Rules
The Regatta will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the prescriptions of the United States Sailing Association, the Rules and Bylaws of the ILYA, the rules of IODA and USODA, except as any of these are modified by the Sailing Instructions, and the Sailing Instructions. The Sailing Instructions will be available during the registration periods.
The Low Point Scoring System in Appendix A of the RRS will apply, except that Rule A2 is changed so that each boat's total score will be the sum of her scores for all races. Three completed races shall constitute a regatta in the Red, White and Blue Fleets. One race shall constitute a regatta in the Green Fleet.
The Turns Penalty shall apply.
Life jackets must be worn at all times while on the water and on regatta piers.
No swimming in the lake off the boats while racing is in progress or between races.
No boat is permitted to race in the class unless it has a valid measurement certificate.
The sail number and National Letter(s) shall be clearly marked on the rudder and daggerboard.
US SAILING Appendix N-Immediate Penalties for Breaking Rule 42 will be in effect.
Courses
There shall be one course for the Red, White & Blue fleets. A separate course will be used for the Green Fleet. Six races are scheduled for all fleets. All fleets will sail both days. The Sailing instructions, available upon check-in, will illustrate the specific course configurations.
Optimist launching will be at regatta headquarters.
Coach/instructor boats may launch at headquarters on Sunday from 3-6pm ONLY.
Spectator boats may be launched at the DNR launch on the west end of Okauchee Lake or for a fee at the Golden Mast
Mooring Opti and equipment storage on the grass and grounds of OLYC will be available, but OLYC accepts no responsibility for equipment.

Registration
Eligible boats may enter by three means: 1) Registering on the ILYA website (www.ilya.org). To register for the regatta click HERE.
2) Completing an official ILYA Regatta Entry Application and sending it, together with the required fee, to the ILYA at PO Box 311, Fontana, WI 53125. These are in Scow Slants.
3) Faxing to ILYA at 262-203-7722.
All entries must be postmarked or otherwise received by July 15 to avoid late penalties. Fax and Internet registrations require credit card information.
All entries require the parent's accaptance of a waiver protecting ILYA and the host club and other volunteers. The waiver is available on line and in Scow Slants.
