Schedule
Pre-register by May 20 for a chance to win a 2010 Light-Medium E Scow jib donated by Melges Performance Sailboats and North Sails One Design.
Registration, Check-in, and Launching will be at the Carson's Bay Facility Thursday, July 8 from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. and on Friday, July 9, from 7:30 - 8:00 a.m. Trailer parking will be off-site but within walking distance of the Carson's Bay facility. Registration is not completed until Sailing Instructions have been received and acknowledged.
Competitors' Briefing: There will be a Competitors’ Briefing on Friday, July 9, at 8:30 a.m. at the Clubhouse on Lighthouse Island. Coffee and rolls will be available.
Race Schedule: The goal is to have up to seven good races. The first race is scheduled for a 11:00 a.m. warning signal. Except when races are sailed back to back, the approximate time of the warning signal for subsequent races will be posted in the Clubhouse. If two races are completed, no warning signal will be made after 1200 on Sunday, July 11. In any case, no warning signal will be made after 1300 on Sunday, July 11.
Eligibility
The regatta is open to boats of the E Scow Class. The skipper must be a family, regular, youth or life member of the ILYA at the time of registration. Crew members become members of the ILYA by virtue of the yacht’s completed registration. ILYA Member Club requirements apply. See ILYA By-laws 12.22 and 12.23.

Fees
Class E Invitational early entry: $128.00 (after June 25 add $32).
The entry is free for skippers sailing their first ILYA Adult Class Regatta, and who contact the ILYA office and register prior to or on the early registration deadline (June 25).
A 50% youth-aged skipper discount is available to qualifying skippers who register prior to or on the early registration deadline (June 25).
Registration fee incentives do not apply to on-site registrations.
Trophies
Trophies will be awarded to the top 5 skipper and crew. The champion skipper is awarded the Jule Hannaford Trophy, an ILYA perpetual trophy given each year in memory of its namesake. Trophies will be presented following haul-out after the last race on Sunday.
Risks
Sailing is an activity that has an inherent risk of damage and injury. Competitors in this event are participating entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4, Decision to Race. The race organizers (organizing authority, race committee, protest committee, host club, sponsors, or any other organization or official) will not be responsible for damage to any boat or other property or the injury to any competitor, including death, sustained as a result of participation in this event. By participating in this event, each competitor, or in the case of minors, each competitor’s parent or guardian, agrees to release the race organizers from any and all liability associated with such competitor’s participation in this event to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Rules
The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing; the prescriptions of the United States Sailing Association; the Rules and Bylaws of the ILYA; and the Scantling Rules and Bylaw Articles VI and VIII, parts 4, 5 and 7 of the National Class E Scow Association; except as any of these are modified by the Sailing Instructions. The Sailing Instructions will be included as part of the registration materials. Pursuant to ILYA Bylaw 12.22, measurement and weighing will not be conducted, but each entry is bound by the National Class E Scow Association’s scantlings.
Crew changes are allowed during this event.
All communication will be by VHF radio, hailer when required, and flag signals.
In accordance with ISAF Regulation 20, this regatta is classified as an “invitational” Category A event.
The Low Point System, RRS A4, will apply, except that Rule A2 is changed so that each yacht’s total score will be the sum of her scores for all races. Two completed races shall constitute a regatta. The Turns Penalty shall apply, except that RRS 44.1 and 44.2 are changed so that only one turn, including one tack and one gybe, is required.
Courses
The courses to be sailed will be described in the Sailing Instructions. The racing area will be on the navigable waters of Lake Minnetonka.

Miscellaneous
Launching and Mooring: There is a crane available at MYC’s Carson’s Bay facility for launching sailboats only. The crane may only be operated by MYC members. Each yacht should have a lifting bridle for crane use. There is also a public ramp on the east side of Carson’s Bay. All boats must be power washed prior to launching to diminish the spread of invasive species. You will be instructed at registration how to launch your boat. All trailer parking will be with walking distance.
Bring your own anchor, buoy and line (100 feet) in case it is needed. Boats will be on lifts or tied at homes, on dollies at Bug Island, or mooring at homes or in Carson's Bay. Although dry sailing is allowed for all yachts at this regatta, there will be no dry sailing allowed at the Carson's Bay facility. All moorings must be removed on Sunday, July 11.
Spectator Fleet: Power boats can be launched at the public ramp on the east side of Carson's Bay.

Eligible boats may enter by three means:
1) Registering on the ILYA website (www.ilya.org). To register for the regatta click HERE.
2) Completing an official ILYA Regatta Entry Application and sending it, together with the required fee, to the ILYA at PO Box 311, Fontana, WI 53125.
3) Faxing to ILYA at 262-203-7722.
All entries must be postmarked or otherwise received by June 25 to avoid late penalties per ILYA By-law 12.18.3.d. Fax and Internet registrations require MasterCard or VISA credit card information.
