21-24 A One Design Champs at Mendota

A One Design Fleet Completes Four Races

Who could miss today? The spectator fleet grew today as keelboats, tenders and Mendota spectators joined the A One Design fleet on beautiful Mendota. The day began with the slightest threat in the air but bad weather moved south of Madison to allow a start time of 11:00 sharp. Tomorrow promises two more races with a 10:00 warning signal.

Race One brought better luck for Andy Burdick and crew who experienced an uncharacteristic middle of the pack day yesterday. To rid themselves of bad luck, the Men in Black changed to white today and luck they had with a great race win.

Race two was won by a boat other than Geneva. Minnetonka's Pat Hughes beat the Burdick boat which moves the M21 into an overall fourth.

Today's leader is a consistent Rob Evans. He leads the Burdick boat by six points. Some wear white, some black but the leaders sail bare.

Results show 6 Geneva boats and three Minnetonka teams in the top ten. An Oshkosh boat sits in tenth but with Minnetonka connection John Dennis.

WATCH FOR HER IN CLOSING CEREMONY Sally will be arriving into Milwaukee Airport at 7:00pm on Monday (25th) after walking in the Closing Ceremonies in Beijing on Sunday night. We will meet at the Airport, upstairs & just outside of security at Concourse C. Everyone is invited to join us in showing her how proud we all are of her & the team with flags & banners!! --Leslie & Dick
