OKOBOJI READY FOR CHAMPS |
|
'Boji greeted the E's, MC's and M-16s for a three-day
regatta.Regatta chair Steve Avery was up a tree, literally, setting up
games for tonight's party. Phil Petersen had the race committee
organized to the 'nth degree providing housing and equipment for a
three-course event.
The E's will feature 30 of the Midwest's best . PJ Friend arrived
after a Madison accident. Fritz Ruf was "johnny on the spot" driving a
replacement trailer to allow the team to continue on its way after
being sideswiped. All are safe. We will miss Jack Strothman who
cancelled due to illness.
The MC fleet will boast 41 boats with a strong home lake presence.
Ten juniors have taken advantage of the ILYA half-price registration.
The M-16s will register this morning.
The volunteers were plentiful. Lunches are a reasonable $6 and the after race parties are free.
If you are considering the C fleet, I-20 or A Open,
register today. Okoboji is ready and value-packed as always.The weather
is perfect, Arnold's Park looks as inviting as ever.

| BARKOW HAS TOUGH FIRST RACE BUT RECOVERS |
|  The
IOC wants to protect the commercial interests of its sponsors and
thus Team Seven is not permitted to post photos of sailing action or
provide you directly with official results. However, all the links to
official photos, results, and other items of interest are on Team 7
Qingdao Olympic Blog page. If you want to tell your friends and family
about reports, they can find them here. For a really great photo Team Seven sailing in front of the British team, go here. Then click on the thumbnail shot. For results
and click on Yingling Women in the left-hand column. Qingdao is 13
hours ahead of us so when you awake in the morning the previous days'
results are posted.
