| SIX CLUBS FLY BURGEES FOR COLLEGIATE NATIONALS |
|

GENEVA, LABELLE, WHITE BEAR, BEULAH, PINE AND CEDAR
Plan to give the UW Sailing Team and the Midwest college scene a Christmas present. And don't forget your tax deductible gift by yearend. Six clubs have donated $500 or more to be the first to earn the right to fly burgees during the 2010 Collegiate Nationals.
These clubs found a member to spearhead the drive to collect individual donations in the name of their respective clubs. Many more have started the process. If your club is not among those "flying" a burgee yet, take the lead and gather support for the opportunity to show our Inland pride. Look for the Inland to be present in a large manner - Race Committee, the ILYA Bilge Puller trailer for supplies, parents assisting behind the scenes -- AND OUR SAILORS. The collegiate contingent grows every year. Support our sailors and show the coasts our Midwest hospitality which takes a monumental effort on the part of the UW sailing team.

| ISAF MAKES CORRECTIONS TO 09-12 RULEBOOK |

Dick Rose Interprets Amendments Made to the Racing Rules of Sailing for 2009-1012 As a result of actions taken by the ISAF Racing Rules Committee and theISAF Council during the 2009 ISAF Annual Conference, several changes in The Racing Rules of Sailing for 2009-2012 will take effect on Jan. 1, 2010... Dick Rose, one of US SAILING's delegates to the ISAF Racing Rules Committee, said of these changes, "With one exception, these are not major changes. They primarily effect team and match racing, as well as some events in which the display of advertising is an issue. The change in the definition of Party is the one exception. It legitimizes a useful new tool that will enable improvement and simplification of the hearing of requests for redress. Recreation racers will almost never encounter a situation in which one of these changes would effect how they sail."
