ROLANDERS WIN JUNIOR FLEET WITH ONE DAY TO GO |
|
Joe and Griffen Rolander have compiled a most impressive
3-5-1-2-2-1-1 to capture the title over current top contenders. The
Geneva brothers have shown consistency in a second day where a
beautiful four races were completed by both fleets. That leaves only
one race for the juniors. The race is on for second with four points
separating Minnetonka's Addy Ferguson, last year's runner up, and White
Bear's Eddie Cox. The scores get tight in fourth through tenth. It is
family everywhere in this fleet. Two Pewaukee Feichtmeiers and two
Beulah Barrs are in the top fifteen. Cousins from Okauchee from the
Smith family tree also in the top fifteen. In terms of lake bragging
rights, we have four Beulah's in the top fifteen, two Minnetonka's, two
Okauchees, two Genevas and two Pewaukees. One race left to go but the
sailors reached the level to receive one throw out on Day 2. Junior pics by Stacie Carlson and for second. . .

| SENIOR FLEET |
| | Results
could not be tighter in the Senior Fleet. The top four are separated by
a five-point spread with two races to go on Day 3. Davis and RJ Porter
from Geneva sit on top but, whoa Nelly, the field is packed. Last
year's Junior winner is one point ahead of fellow Genevan and two-time
runner up Michael and Mitchell Lee. Junior winner George Kutschenreuter
and John Barr are one point behind that. In fourth is a last year
Junior top five and two-race winner (also from Geneva - there's magic
in that water) Charlie Morris with Mac Six. Fifth through seventh again
have a five-point spread.
Four LaBelle sailors grace the top fifteen, three Geneva, two
Beulah, one Delavan (who trains on Geneva), one Cedar, one Minnetonka,
one Pewaukee, one Cedar and one North Lake.
The most touching moments have been to see that one exceptional
race with a sailor coming across in the top fifteen unexpectedly.
Congrats to all the sailors. Today the sailors have two races to begin
at 9:30.
BIG NEWS - LaBelle took the volleyball championship for the second
year. With Oshkosh sporting "Not in my house" and Beulah holding a
"mandatory" practice, this is the real substance of the regatta.
Kidding aside, the event is marked with only the most wonderful
reports. The highest accolade was heard, "We should have the Champs
here every year." No higher praise could be given. |
