Check-in, Measurement, and Launch: Wed., July 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Headquarters at Millers Bay.
Practice Race: A combined practice race for any Senior or Junior who wishes to participate will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23. More details will be available at Check-in.
Competitors Briefings: The competitors’ briefings will immediately follow the opening ceremonies, which begin at 6:15 p.m., Wednesday, July 23, at the Waters (formerly the Oshkosh Legion Hall), at the foot of Washington Avenue (1393 Washington). All clubs are asked to have someone represent their club with a burgee that will be flown during the regatta.
Race Schedule:
The Warning Signal for the first race, July 24, will be at 10:00 a.m. Except when races are sailed back to back, the approximate time of the warning signal for subsequent races will be posted.
If three races are completed, no warning signal will be made after 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2008. In any case, no warning signal will be made after 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2008.
Eight races are scheduled for each fleet. Every effort will be made to complete all scheduled races during the course of the regatta. If six or more races are completed, a throw-out race will be figured in the final scoring.
Eligibility
The Regatta is open to skippers who comply with the requirements
prescribed by the ILYA bylaws and are Family, Regular, Youth, or Life
members of the ILYA. Crew become members of the Association by virtue

All skippers in Class X and crew who turn 16 during or after the calendar year 2008 may participate. Only skippers who turn 14 or younger in the calendar year 2008 are eligible to sail in the Junior Fleet. Skippers who turn 15 or 16 during the calendar year 2008 must sail in the Senior Fleet. Crew members may sail in either fleet as long as they are not older than 16 in the calendar year 2008.
Social
Wednesday, July 23rd 6:15 pm: "Opening Ceremonies" parade of flags and lighting of the Regatta Flame. Buffet dinner at the Waters on Washington Avenue to follow the competitors' briefing.
Friday, July 25th 6:30 pm: "Lake of Champions" Olympic themed party at the Waters on Washington Ave.. Dinner and entertainment for a casual night of dancing, games and karaoke fun.
Fees
The entry fee is $100 per yacht. Registration payments must be
postmarked or otherwise received by July10 to avoid a $20 late entry
fee prescribed by the ILYA bylaw 12.18.30d. Registrations on site are subject to a $30 late penalty.
Lunch and Social tickets and Regatta Wear may be purchased at check-in.
Trophies
Perpetual trophies are awarded to the winning skippers of each race. The top 15 finishers in both the Junior and Senior fleets will receive trophies presented to both skippers and crews. The top female skippers in each fleet, and the highest Junior finisher who is 13 years of age or younger as of August 1, will also receive individual trophies. Some race trophies may be awarded at the Lake of Champions party. A final trophy presentation will follow the racing and haul out at Menominee park.
Risks
Sailing is an activity that has an inherent risk of damage and injury. Competitors in this event are participating entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4, Decision to Race. The race organizers (organizing authority, race committee, protest committee, host club, sponsors, or any other organization or official) will not be responsible for damage to any boat or other property or the injury to any competitor, including death, sustained as a result of participation in this event. By participating in this event, each competitor, or in the case of minors, each competitor’s parent or guardian, agrees to release the race organizers from any and all liability associated with such competitor’s participation in this event to the fullest extent permitted by law
Rules
1. Except as any of the following are altered by the Sailing Instructions, the regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing, the prescriptions of the United States Sailing Association, and the Rules and Bylaws of the ILYA, and the ILYA Class X Boat scantlings.
2. Advertising will be restricted to Category A.
3. Boating regulations of the State of Wisconsin will apply.
Courses
The racing will be held on Lake Winnebago in the Oshkosh area near the southern entrance to Millers Bay. The courses will be described in the Sailing Instructions, available at Check-in.

The regatta will be wet sailed. Moorings will be in Millers Bay. Mooring anchor and line must be provided by each
skipper. Twenty feet of mooring line is recommended by the host club,
and achors suitable for a mud bottom.
Powerboats may be moored in Millers Bay or on trailers in Menominee Park. You must alert the host club at registration if you are going to take out each day with your powerboat, as they will collect the $3/per boat/per day launch fee from you for the four days of the event.

it, together with the required fee, to the ILYA at PO Box 311, Fontana,
WI 53125.

All entries must be postmarked or otherwise received by June 27 to
avoid late penalties per ILYA By-law 12.18.3.d. Fax and Internet
registrations require credit card information.
