ILYA OPTIMIST CHAMPS
|
|
No wind on Wednesday netted FUN! Egg toss, card games, trophies. In the end, Geneva's Griffin Rolander took home the top sailing award AND the top raffle award - a new North Sail. Did anyone tell his mom to buy a lottery ticket today? That kid is lucky. But luck is only a small part of the talent, Griffin was also the runnerup in the X fleet. What a great year for this first year X and most successful Opti sailor.
The Kate Goes Sportsmanship Award  went to Susie Voltz who displayed an honesty that was worthy of recognition. Thanks to the Voltz family for a lesson for all of us to observe and admire.Susie is pictured here with sister Molly. The entire Voltz family was recognized at the trophy presentation.
